The fortification is to be found at Karoubalo, to the north-west of the village of Bozika, at a height of 780 m. Its position is a strategic one, as it controls the ancient and medieval route from Arcadia to Sikyonia through Aghia Triada, Bozika and Titane.
History
On the plain that stretches to the north of the fortifications, the scattered remains of a small Early Byzantine settlement have been found. It is very likely that the tower or small fortress was built to protect the population from the barbarian invasions. In the settlement of Bozika a coin-hoard of the 6th century has been found , together with an Early Byzantine tomb and other Late Byzantine ones, dating back to the 14th century.
Χρονολόγηση: Early Byzantine period (4th -7th centuries)
